Undergraduate Catalog 2025-2026

I. Matriculation & Catalog Rights

A matriculated student is one who has been accepted to a degree or certificate program at Onondaga Community College (OCC).

  • Students accepted in a microcredential program but not a degree or certificate program are not considered matriculated students, but still have catalog rights, as described in Section B.

B. Catalog Rights

  • To graduate with a degree or certificate, students must complete the requirements stated in the College Catalog when they first matriculate into that degree or certificate program.
  • A student who discontinues their enrollment for a period of two consecutive years will lose their matriculated status and their academic record will be made inactive. If that student re-matriculates, they must fulfill the requirements in the Catalog in effect at the time of re-matriculation.
  • If program requirements change while a student is continuously enrolled (fall and spring) in at least one course, the student has the right to continue following the requirements in the Catalog at the time of their initial matriculation in that program.
  • Students always have the option of following the requirements in the current Catalog. To do so, the student must formally request an update to their record by submitting an “Academic Program Adjustment” form. Once the Catalog requirements are updated, they cannot be changed back.
  • A student who is continuously enrolled and doesn’t graduate within six years of matriculation will be moved to the current Catalog requirements.
  • All of the above points also apply to students enrolled in a microcredential. Rather than the date of matriculation, microcredential students would follow the Catalog in effect at the time of their acceptance to the microcredential program.
