Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential

The Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential consists of seven courses covering fundamental skills needed for entry-level positions in manufacturing, facilities, or equipment maintenance. These courses stack directly into both the 1-year Electromechnical Technology Certificate and the 2-year Electromechanical Technology AAS degree to allow students to advance their education over time. Students can enroll in all 7 courses in a single semester, providing a quick entry point to employment. CIS 271 Internetworking I

This course expands upon Network Fundamentals advances into Routing and Switching. Students will explore the architecture, components, and operation of Cisco routers, and learn the principles of routing and the routing protocols RIP, EIGRP, and OSPF. They will learn the technologies and protocols needed to design and implement a converged switched network, including virtual LANs, VTP, inter-VLAN routing, and Spanning Tree Protocol. Prerequisite(s): CIS 170 .
