This course is an introduction to the basic elements of music. Areas explored include the symphony orchestra, and other performing media. The course investigates styles and techniques of Western classical music of the 18th and 19th centuries through the use of recordings and visual aids with the aim of a more complete understanding and enjoyment of the art.
