PSY 207 Adolescent Psychology

The purpose of the course is to give students an understanding of the issues and concerns associated with the adolescent period of development. Some of the topics covered include: physical, cognitive and social development, education, family and peer relationships, and mental health. Students will gain an understanding of the issues confronting adolescents and what impacts decisions adolescents make. Theoretical emphasis is placed upon the interaction between environment and heredity in explaining adolescent’s new awareness of issues that concern them. Prerequisite(s): PSY 103 .
