ART 142 Introduction to Computer Graphics Credits: (3) An introduction to graphic design in a digital environment. This course examines industry standard software applications for page layout, illustration, and photo manipulation. Requirement for Graphic Design majors. Open elective.
Learning Outcomes
- Create a document in a page layout software application with a basic understanding of the software’s functions, tools, menus and palettes.
- Create artwork in an illustration software application with a basic understanding of the software’s functions, tools, menus and palettes.
- Create artwork in a photo manipulation software application with a basic understanding of the software’s functions, tools, menus and palettes.
- Organize 2-dimensional space a basic understanding of design concepts.
- Discuss and evaluate the class’s and the student’s own work as well as demonstrate an understanding of constructive criticism and self-analysis.
