CFS 210 Terrorism and the Criminal Justice System

This course introduces the student to the study of terrorism. It will focus on both domestic and foreign varieties of this unique form of organizational crime and its implications for the American criminal justice system.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Describe the problem of defining terrorism.
  2. Compare and contrast ordinary crime, organized crime, and terrorist crime.
  3. Summarize the basic organizational structure common to terrorist groups.
  4. List and summarize basic tactical forms of terrorism.
  5. Discuss relevant legislative and policy issues within the criminal justice system before and since September 11, 2001.
