The Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential consists of seven courses covering fundamental skills needed for entry-level positions in manufacturing, facilities, or equipment maintenance. These courses stack directly into both the 1-year Electromechnical Technology Certificate and the 2-year Electromechanical Technology AAS degree to allow students to advance their education over time. Students can enroll in all 7 courses in a single semester, providing a quick entry point to employment. Students will learn electrical and mechanical skills through hands-on learning, while gaining core mathematical skills commonly used in the workplace.

ESL 87 Basic Reading and Vocabulary Skills for ESOL Students

Credits: (3EQ)

This course is designed specifically for ESOL students for the purpose of improving reading comprehension and vocabulary as preparation for college-level reading. The reading component will focus on improving comprehension at literal, inferential, and evaluative levels, using a variety of literary genres and non-fiction texts. The vocabulary component will focus on efficient methods of deriving meaning from context, Latin and Greek roots and affixes, and the dictionary. Prerequisite(s): Speaking Interview. Co-requisite(s): ESL 98 .
