Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential

The Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential consists of seven courses covering fundamental skills needed for entry-level positions in manufacturing, facilities, or equipment maintenance. These courses stack directly into both the 1-year Electromechnical Technology Certificate and the 2-year Electromechanical Technology AAS degree to allow students to advance their education over time. Students can enroll in all 7 courses in a single semester, providing a quick entry point to employment. Students will learn electrical and mechanical skills through hands-on learning, while gaining core mathematical skills commonly used in the workplace.

We will study the settlement of the American West as it has been reflected in popular literature and films, focusing on the distinction between the actual frontier experience and the way that experience has been presented to us in our entertainment. Special emphasis will be placed on the Plains Indian, the mountain men, and the cowboys.
