Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential

The Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential consists of seven courses covering fundamental skills needed for entry-level positions in manufacturing, facilities, or equipment maintenance. These courses stack directly into both the 1-year Electromechnical Technology Certificate and the 2-year Electromechanical Technology AAS degree to allow students to advance their education over time. Students can enroll in all 7 courses in a single semester, providing a quick entry point to employment. Students will learn electrical and mechanical skills through hands-on learning, while gaining core mathematical skills commonly used in the workplace.

A continuation of MET 151 . Additional theory and laboratory experiences include: milling, attachments, broaching, machine tooling, tapers, heat treating, metal finishes, and inspection. Also basic programming and operations of numerical control equipment. The basic applications of jigs and fixtures. Prerequisite(s): MET 151 or permission of instructor. Two class hours and laboratory.
