ILS 153 Integrated Learning Seminar Credits: (3)
ILS 153 introduces students to evidence-based strategies, grounded in social and behavioral science research, for success in college and beyond. Through active learning and reflection, students explore how the brain learns, how habits form, and how motivation, focus, and time management impact academic performance. The course emphasizes critical and reflective thinking, information literacy, and the ethical use of digital and emerging technologies, including AI.
Students refine their ability to communicate with clarity and purpose, analyze ideas and information from multiple perspectives, and apply effective strategies for studying, problem-solving, and collaboration. Whether strengthening academic foundations or extending advanced skills, they develop the confidence, adaptability, and self-awareness needed to achieve their goals and contribute meaningfully to academic and community life.
