MUS 113B Beginning Piano II

Beginning Piano II is the second course in a two-semester sequenced piano curriculum, designed for students with little to no prior piano experience. The course develops fundamental keyboard skills for Music Sound Recording majors while preparing Music majors to achieve the proficiency required for degree-oriented class piano coursework (MUS 117/118/119/120). Instruction covers fundamental keyboard techniques (scales, arpeggios, chords, and progressions), introductory repertoire, and sight-reading. Prerequisite(s): MUS 113A , and permission of department. 

Learning Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate fundamental keyboard skills (scales/arpeggios/chords/progressions).  
  2. Demonstrate ability to play solo repertoire.
  3. Demonstrate ability to sight-read.
