HIT 122 Healthcare Systems

This course focuses on various types of healthcare systems found in the United States. The course will examine how healthcare systems are created, managed, categories of care, and the data collected and analyzed in each setting. Students will be introduced to hospital ownership as well as how healthcare is delivered in the U.S.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Differentiate and compare services provided throughout the continuum of healthcare.
  2. Apply policies and procedures to comply with the changing regulations among various payment systems and methodologies for healthcare services
  3. Evaluate policies and procedures to ensure accuracy  and completeness of data, appropriateness of data and data sources for patient care and administrative oversight processes.
  4. Evaluate policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with legislative, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
