ATC 281 Automotive Service Management I Credits: (3) A detailed examination of the role and responsibilities of the Automotive Service Manager. Topics include, but not limited to: Physical resources, human resources, customer satisfaction, service workflow, selling service, advertising and enforcing workplace safety initiatives. A cornerstone of this course is to help students better understand the complexities of managing/owning an Automotive Repair facility. Practical application of knowledge by way of case studies and basic business plan development. Prerequisite(s): ATC 103 or CHQ 103 , or permission of department.

- Demonstrate an understanding of Entire Repair Process.
- Distinguish significant roles needed to run an automotive repair facility.
- Explain the decision making process for creating and maintaining a profitable automotive repair facility.
- Illustrate comprehension of forecasting, income, expenses and profit.
- Evaluate various customer satisfaction protocols.
