SCM 210 Introduction to Warehouse Management Credits: (3) Students in this course will gain an oversight into warehousing operations, including receiving, storing, tracking, workload planning, shipping of materials, staffing, and training/development of employees. Students will learn the complexities of both inbound and outbound logistics within a supply chain, and learn the critical role that software systems play in the movement of materials. Prerequisite(s): SCM 150 .
Learning Outcomes
- Illustrate the role that warehousing plays in a supply chain management system.
- Apply a sense of global awareness to business decisions in light of differing political, historical, and cultural viewpoints.
- Identify the fundamentals of warehouse location, layout, and design.
- Recognize the role that logistics managers play in effectively utilizing personnel, technology, facilities, and equipment.
- Identify potential warehouse management software systems consistent with organizational requirements.
