PED 200 Team Sports Credits: (2PE) This course provides students with an in-depth study of the individual skills, rules, and strategies within the following sports: soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball. The in-depth study involves lesson planning, leading, and evaluating leadership performance and knowledge within each sport. Prerequisite(s): matriculation in the Physical Education & Fitness Studies (A.S.) program or permission of instructor.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain the fundamental elements of softball, volleyball,basketball, and soccer.
- Create skill focused lesson guides within each of the four sports.
- Demonstate the ability to lead sport specific drills that focus on basic psychomotor, social, cognitive, and affective aspects of each sport.
- Practice professionalism for the field of physical education by adhearing to prescribed dress codes and by practicing positive leadership behaviors.
- Develop a growth mindset through the act of locating, analyzing, and integrating sport specific resources when evaluating personal leadership development.
