Direct Support Professional III Microcredential

This Direct Support Professional (DSP) III microcredential aligns with the DSP III certification through the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP). A medical examination, a tuberculin test, a background check, and fingerprinting may be required before beginning field work placements and may require additional costs.

Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential

The Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential consists of seven courses covering fundamental skills needed for entry-level positions in manufacturing, facilities, or equipment maintenance. These courses stack directly into both the 1-year Electromechnical Technology Certificate and the 2-year Electromechanical Technology AAS degree to allow students to advance their education over time. Students can enroll in all 7 courses in a single semester, providing a quick entry point to employment. Students will learn electrical and mechanical skills through hands-on learning, while gaining core mathematical skills commonly used in the workplace.

ELM 105 Introduction to Mechanisms

Credits: (2)

This course introduces common mechanical devices used in industry. Topics include gears, screws, belts, pulleys, shafts, levers, lubricants, and other similar devices. Successful students will be able to identify and properly apply a variety of mechanical components to create solutions for mechanical power transmission. One Lecture hours and two lab hours per week are required for this course.
