Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential

The Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential consists of seven courses covering fundamental skills needed for entry-level positions in manufacturing, facilities, or equipment maintenance. These courses stack directly into both the 1-year Electromechnical Technology Certificate and the 2-year Electromechanical Technology AAS degree to allow students to advance their education over time. Students can enroll in all 7 courses in a single semester, providing a quick entry point to employment. Students will learn electrical and mechanical skills through hands-on learning, while gaining core mathematical skills commonly used in the workplace.

ELM 109 Technical Programming Fundamentals

This course introduces programming fundamentals with a focus on skills useful across a wide array of programming languages and systems. Topics include software development methodology, data types, control structures, functions, user interfaces, communication techniques, events, and database usage while exploring the mechanics of writing, debugging, and implementing programs. One lecture hour and two lab hours per week are required for this course.
