AET 212 Technical Project Management Teams Credits: (2) This course introduces the student to the importance of teamwork in successfully completing technical projects. The student is introduced to traditional and agile project management techniques and processes. An emphasis is placed on team and stakeholder interactions as well as the leadership skills needed for these teams. Participatory exercises help foster the skills and cultural mindset necessary for successful participation in technical project teams. These exercises are based upon the Project Management Institute’s certification examinations for the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practioner (ACP). Prerequisite(s): ELM 100 or MET 150 , or permission of instructor.
Learning Outcomes
- Differentiate basic traditional project management and agile project management techniques and processes.
- Illustrate the need for team involvement in order to solve technical challenges.
- Describe the type of project leadership needed for successful project teams with an emphasis on technical teams.
- Analyze situations and determine the skills needed within various project scenarios.
