ENT 101 Introduction to Entrepreneurship

Credits: (3)
This introductory course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, and the factors that promote and challenge the creation and success of a small business. Students will research and identify an opportunity and prepare a preliminary plan for launching their chosen business. Students will use their preliminary plan as the basis for their business plan proposal in the Advanced Entrepreneurship Course.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Define the concepts, theories, and methods used in entrepreneurship, and in the creation of a new small business.
  2. Explain the steps involved in starting a new small business, including planning for challenges and opportunities.
  3. Describe the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of a new small business venture through the use of research and data analysis.
  4. Apply the concepts, theories, and methods learned in the course to prepare an initial business plan proposal.
