MAT 110 Clinical Calculations for Nursing

This course focuses on calculating accurate medication dosages. Topics will included a review of basic math skills and measurement systems, as well as, dimensional analysis for drug calculations. Prerequisite(s): Matriculation in Nursing.

  1. Solve problems using dimensional analysis as it relates to the healthcare field.
  2. Demonstrate how to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, with the ability to convert between fractions, decimals, percentages, and ratios.
  3. Explain conversion factors as they relate to healthcare applications including drip rates.
  4. Interpret dosing rates from a table.
