ELM 206 Industrial Tools II

This course advances students skills with the usage of power tools including common machining techniques. Students will learn how to select the appropriate tooling, toolholding, workholding, and operating characteristics for common repair tasks and materials. Students will gain an understanding of common industrial materials and the properties associated with them. 1 lecture hour and 2 lab hours per week are required for this course. Prerequisite(s): ELM 106 or permission of instructor.

  1. Recommend common industrial power tools and techniques appropriate for equipment repair.
  2. Analyze and select tooling, holding devices, and operating characteristics for a particular task.
  3. Assess the selection of common materials based on physical properties.
