MET 256 CNC 3 - CAM

A study of CNC -CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing), this is the third course in a three-course sequence to prepare graduates for a career in CNC machining and manufacturing. The course will focus on using CAM software to create programs to run parts on CNC machines. Two hour lecure and three laboratory hours per week. Prerequisite(s): MET 254 .  

Learning Outcomes
  1. Create tooling libraries in CAM software.
  2. Import CAD files from CAM software to CNC machines.
  3. Create fixturing libraries in CAM software.
  4. Simulate CNC run cycles to check for program accuracy.
  5. Demonstrate machine set up and run cycle.
