These courses stack directly into both the 1-year Electromechnical Technology Certificate and the 2-year Electromechanical Technology AAS degree to allow students to advance their education over time. Students can enroll in all 7 courses in a single semester, providing a quick entry point to employment. Students will learn electrical and mechanical skills through hands-on learning, while gaining core mathematical skills commonly used in the workplace.

MET 256 CNC 3 - CAM

Credits: (3)

A study of CNC -CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing), this is the third course in a three-course sequence to prepare graduates for a career in CNC machining and manufacturing. The course will focus on using CAM software to create programs to run parts on CNC machines. Two hour lecure and three laboratory hours per week. Prerequisite(s): MET 254 .

Learning Outcomes

Create tooling libraries in CAM software.
Import CAD files from CAM software to CNC machines.
Create fixturing libraries in CAM software.
Simulate CNC run cycles to check for program accuracy.
Demonstrate machine set up and run cycle.
