MET 291 Cooperative Education Credits: (3) Designed to provide work experience directly related to the student’s field of study. A learning contract, containing specific educational objectives related to the work experience and the student’s field of study, is developed by the student and the faculty co-op coordinator. Course requirements include a minimum of 180 hours of work in the student’s field of study, maintenance of a work journal to record hours worked and duties performed, and a final paper. This will allow the student to earn three credit hours. The student’s performance will be evaluated by the faculty co-op coordinator on the basis of meeting the objectives in the learning contract and satisfactory evaluations by the employer.
