SOC 103H Honors Introductory Sociology

This course is a foundational introduction to the broad range of topics encompassed in the “science of society.” Students will learn how to study society with sociological methodologies and how to intrepret it with sociological theories and thinking. Students will furthermore exlore major sociological topics such as social and economic inequality, gender and sex, the structures of family and human socieites, race and ethnicity, religion, socializatoin processes, and forms of deviance and culture. As an honors course, students will be required to complete an advanced sociological research paper or proposal. Open to Honors College students only.
