GST 110 Introduction to Remote Sensing and UAV Data Acquisition Credits: (3)
This course introduces students to the basics of remote sensing, characteristics of remote sensors, and remote sensing applications in various professional industries. The course covers the concepts and foundations of remote sensing, aerial photography, and photogrammetry. Students will explore visual image interpretation and learn the characteristics and physical principles of various sensing systems such as multispectral, thermal, hyperspectral, microwave, and lidar. The course also introduces students to the history of remote sensing and future trends in remote sensing and data acquisition with unmanned aerial vehicles.
