COM 284 Communication and Gender

This course seeks to acquaint students with the unique ways we communicate across the gender spectrum. The focus of this discussion-oriented class is on how gender influences verbal and non-verbal communication, identity formation, listening, speaking, and interpersonal relationships. Additional topics covered will include communication and gender in the workplace and the classroom, as well as the influence of the media on gendered communication.
