Circuits are analyzed using Ohm’s Law, Watt’s law, Kirchhoff’s current and voltage laws, superposition, mesh, and nodal analysis. The course concludes with the study of ideal transformers and an introduction to Capacitors and Inductors. Laboratory exercises emphasize the construction, analysis, measurement, and troubleshooting of circuits using appropriate laboratory equipment. The use of engineering notation and scientific calculators are also covered. 3 Lecture hours and 3 lab hours per week are required for this course. Prerequisite(s)/Co-requisite(s): MAT 114 or higher, or permission of instructor.
