FPT 158 Fire Dynamics

This course is a study of chemistry related to the combustion process and compartment fire dynamics. This course explores the theory and fundamentals of combustion, including heat release rates of various fuels. Students are introduced to the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) of the fire service and the role the fire service plays in managing fire risks and hazards in the built environment. Coursework involves independent study as well as collaborative participation in discussions and projects.
