Cybersecurity (A.S.)

The Cybersecurity program explores the way computers and networks are used to commit cybercrime. Students will study the various types of cybersecurity events, along with the processes to prevent, detect, and recover from them. This program explores the global situations that may lead to cybercrime events. Graduates of the program will be well prepared to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
Mission Statement
Prepare students to transfer to advanced study in cybersecurity through mastery of the core principles of cybersecurity, network and information systems.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Identify Cybersecurity threats and examine techniques for securing devices, networks, and information.
- Analyze the global positions that become motivations for cyber-attacks.
- Explain the process of securing and preserving digital evidence.
- Interpret laws that have an impact on Cybersecurity.
- Analyze digital usage, digital access, and digital records.

- Students seeking transfer to a networking security program are advised to take CSC 111 , CSC 112 , and CSC 211 . Students continuing toward a general security or forensics degree are advised to take CIS 286 , CYB 232 , and CRJ 215 .
