Manufacturing Fundamentals (MC)


The Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential consists of seven courses covering fundamental skills needed for entry-level positions in manufacturing, facilities, or equipment maintenance. These courses stack directly into both the 1-year Electromechanical Technology Certificate and the 2-year Electromechanical Technology AAS degree to allow students to advance their education over time. Students can enroll in all 7 courses in a single semester, providing a quick entry point to employment. Students will learn electrical and mechanical skills through hands-on learning, while gaining core mathematical skills commonly used in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

Successful students who complete this microcredential will be able to:

  1. Identify a variety of hand tools used in industry and utilize them to properly assemble electro-mechanical equipment.
  2. Interpret mechanical drawings, assemble mechanical power transmission components, and perform mechanical measurements.
  3. Interpretation of basic electrical circuit diagrams, making electrical connections, and performing electrical measurements.
