CHE 151 Basic Chemistry for Health Science I

Credits: (3)
This course provides a study of chemistry at an introductory level, intended for students in the paramedical sciences (nursing, dental hygiene, respiratory therapy, etc). Topics include the nature of atoms, ionic and covalent bonding, nomenclature, chemical change and equilibrium, gas laws, properties of water and aqueous solutions, acids, bases and pH, and an introduction to organic and biochemical compounds. This course will not satisfy math/science/computer elective requirements in the Math and Science, Engineering Science, and Laboratory Science programs.
