SCM 150 Supply Chain Management

Supply Chain Management is designed to introduce students to the planning and organizing activities involved in the upstream and downstream elements of a sourcing and delivery system. Specific topics include procurement, capacity planning, production operations, distribution, delivery, quality, and customer service. The course emphasizes the communication, collaboration, and integration of activities among all components of a supply chain.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Define Supply Chain Management and identify its relationship with other areas of Business Management.
  2. Evaluate and manage the risks associated with the outsourcing of functions.
  3. Integrate capacity planning and production scheduling with sales strategy and sales projections.
  4. Identify and demonstrate the potential for strategic alliances in the relationship between suppliers and retailers.
  5. Plan and organize the tools and activities required to deliver a quality product to an end user in a timely manner.
