ART 201 Advanced Drawing and Painting I Credits: (3) Advanced studio experience in drawing and the use of a variety of media. Emphasis is on improving technical skills, compositional sophistication and experimentation with new or multimedia techniques. Individual creativity is encouraged through exploration of a variety of subject possibilities. Prerequisite(s): ART 102 or permission of instructor.

- Individual and group growth in developing conceptual content of work
- An understanding that the drawing process is additive/subtractive, metaphoric, symbolic, representational, kinesthetic, systemic and constructive
- An understanding that drawing is abstraction
