Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential

The Manufacturing Fundamentals Microcredential consists of seven courses covering fundamental skills needed for entry-level positions in manufacturing, facilities, or equipment maintenance. These courses stack directly into both the 1-year Electromechnical Technology Certificate and the 2-year Electromechanical Technology AAS degree to allow students to advance their education over time. Students can enroll in all 7 courses in a single semester, providing a quick entry point to employment. Students will learn electrical and mechanical skills through hands-on learning, while gaining core mathematical skills commonly used in the workplace.

MET 275 Engineering Computations

Credits: (3)

This course is designed to introduce students to the concepts of Engineering Computations while utilizing contemporary spreadsheet and MATLAB software. Topics include computational theory, number representation (scalars, arrays, and matrices), and programming constructs such as algorithm development and flow-charting. Root finding, matrix methods, simultaneous equations, numerical integration, and optimization will also be discussed. Prerequisite(s): MAT 120 or higher, or permission of instructor.
