ARH 271 Building Information Modeling Fundamentals

This is an introductory course in the fundamentals of Building Information Modeling (BIM), utilizing Autodesk Revit Architecture design software. This course covers techniques used in the creation of building information models, including building components and assemblies and the generation of construction documents from the building information model, including floor plans, section views, elevations, schedules and other architectural drawings. Prerequisite(s): ARH 120 and ARH 140 , or permission of department.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate an understanding of how to create and maintain a BIM (Building Information Model). To manage and maintain a building information model.
  2. Create renderings, working drawings, and massing studies from the BIM (Building Information Model).
  3. Understand how BIM is used in each phase of a building project to inform the building design, coordinate with other disciplines, and organize building management.
