ATC 251 Automotive Restoration Practices I

Credits: (1)
This course is designed to provide hands-on experience directly related to the the area of Vehicle Restoration. A learning contract, containing specific educational objectives as they relate to the work experience and the restoration of a vehicle, is developed between the student and department coordinator. The student is required to keep a daily work journal which provides relevant feedback to the department coordinator thereby ensuring a constant monitoring of tasks performed during the work session. Prerequisite(s): ATC 103  and ATC 115 , or permission of department.

  1. Demonstrate professional work ethic and safety procedures.
  2. Identify proper restoration techniques for various automotive systems.
  3. Implement current standard restoration practices utilized by industry professionals.
  4. Discuss potential areas of concerns for the resoration of a vehicle.
  5. Construct a budget and suppliers for the restoration project.
