ELM 276 Technical Data Analysis

This course introduces students to methods of problem solving through data analysis using computer software. Topics include working with spreadsheet and mathematical software to analyze and visualize data including creating graphs and tables. Students will learn how to utilize MS Excel to solve technical problems and analyze scalar and array data sets. 2 lecture hours per week are required for this course. Pre/Co-Requisite(s): MAT 119  or higher or permission of instructor. 

Learning Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate best practices utilizing contemporary spreadsheet software.
  2. Analyze technical problems and solve them by applying appropriate functions using software.
  3. Construct solutions to problems involving organization of complex data sets.
  4. Create charts and tables to visualize trends and patterns in complex data sets.
