CHQ 208 Commercial & Heavy Equipment Hydraulics and Pneumatics II

This course examines the design, construction and operation of common commercial and heavy equipment Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems. The emphasis is on service and  diagnostic procedures with these topics discussed in detail. Laboratory exercises consist of proper diagnosis and repair practices, adjustments, component replacement techniques and related services. Hydraulic, Pneumatic systems diagnosis and repair techniques are explored in detail. This course has an accompanying lab. Prerequisite(s): CHQ 108 .

Learning Outcomes
  1. Describe the function of a compressed air unit.
  2. Compare the operating characteristics of various compressor types.
  3. Identify the source of moisture in pneumatic systems and describe purpose of moisture remediation.
  4. Explain, diagnose, and repair flow control valves and actuators.
  5. Explain the benefit of torque control systems.
