ASL 100 Beginning American Sign Language I and II Credits: (6) This course is designed for students with little or no previous knowledge of American Sign Language. Students acquire basic grammar and lexical skills that will enable them to communicate in routine social or professional situations within an authentic cultural context. Topics may include, but are not limited to the following: biographical information, relationships, preferences, leisure activities, making plans for the future, daily routines, hobbies, food, clothing and other belongings, health and emergencies, and the workplace. Upon successful completion (C+ or better) of ASL 100, students may enroll in ASL 200 . Students may not receive credit for both this course and ASL 101 and ASL 102 . Prerequisite(s): American Sign Language major or permission of instructor.
